Ponte Scaligero Verona

The Ponte Scaligero, or Ponte di Castel Vecchio, is a bridge in Verona, connecting the Castel Vecchio to the other side of the river Adige, built around 1354 by Cangrande II della Scala to provide for an easy escape from the castle in case of rebellion.

After being completely destroyed in World War II, it was reconstructed using original pieces found intact in the area.
